Clark Reder Engineering was instrumental in the success of this massive temporary structure installed at Pier 40 along the Hudson River.  The main structure provided a space for both a daytime celebrity football game as well as a nighttime concert by Jay Z.  The main structure was a hybrid tent/steel concrete roof.  The main superstructure was a 240’ long by 100’ deep steel truss grid structure supported on ten 22” diameter steel pipes.  This main grid supported the steel tent framing used to provide the main weather protection for this structure.  The final indoor dimensions were 225’ wide by 350’ long.  Clark Reder Engineering also worked closely with the Hudson River Trust to review the existing pier structure to support the construction loads and final loads imparted by the structure on the pier.
